Desktop Migration Support Expert
On behalf of our client, a leading global company within IT, we are looking for a desktop migration support expert for this permanent position based in Zürich in Switzerland our client is looking for a German and English speaking candidate who can start as soon as possible. Job Description;
You will be a part of migrating from multiple Windows XP platforms to a standard Windows 7/Office 2010 standard desktop platform. As part of this migration we have a requirement for experts to provide support to the migration teams. This important role requires expert level Workstation support skills, as this requirement involves not only troubleshooting during migration but also deeper root cause analysis. The successful candidate will be expected to liaise between the migration program, problem management teams and Engineering to facilitate rapid issue resolution.
The skills and experience needed for this position are;
- Windows Security ie Authentication, File/Share level access control, Trust relationships
- Experience of defining a Desktop build ie integrating the Windows operating system with applications and customisation
- Experience of generic Desktop support tools such as VPRO is beneficial
- Experience of Application Packaging and Application Remediation for Windows x64 platforms
- Experience of supporting or engineering Applications on Windows systems in a global environment
- An understanding of standard migration tools ie MS USMT
- Experienced with Active Directory, Group Policy, DNS, DHCP etc.
- supporting or engineering Windows Vista/7 in a global environment
