ROLE PURPOSE
NetApp Storage System Administrator
Covering the following major areas :
- Technical NetApp NAS Storage operation & project management
- Maintain "state-of-the-art" and flexible NetApp NAS infrastructure
- Maintain Quality documentation in the area of expertise (SOP, WI, OM documents);
- Support Data migration projects in area of Institutes for Biomedical Research (IBR) Scientific Applications & Labs
- Pro-active storage provisioning
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
- Operate & maintain leading-edge heterogeneous Network storage infrastructure primarily based on NetApp NAS hardware
- Operate & maintain NetApp NAS backup services
- Pro-active storage provisioning for all Basel researchers
- Organize and schedule maintenance following the Change Management process
- Maintain storage Standard Operation Procedures (SOP) & Working Instructions (WI) for Quality Management
- Support and Implement Disaster Recovery solutions on ISILON Scale-out NAS platform
- Support technical storage & backup projects such as data migration & hardware life cycle
- Manage advanced storage tools for centralized operations, monitoring & reporting
- Provide storage report on-request using existing IBR-IT storage management tools and processes
- Provide technical expertise to other IBR-IT system & storage administrators
- Increase security capabilities and mitigate risks applying security baseline

- Global Head of IBR-IT Storage & Backup Service manager
- Other Storage Ops Managers and Storage Administrators (outside Basel)
- Other IBR-IT Storage, Server, Network Administrators
- External storage providers/vendors (such as : EMC, NetApp, Symantec, )
- Other local IBR-IT Service Managers
- Other storage experts within IT community
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/PROFILE
- Min. 2 years experience in area of Network Attached Storage (NAS) management
- Training record in area or NetApp NAS
- Good track record in IT department in area of responsibility
- Experience in large enterprise storage operation environment
- Experienced working in storage projects (on time, on spec., on quality and on budget)
- Practical, hands-on personality, results-oriented
- Flexible to accommodate organizational changes in evolving IT infrastructure Organisation
- Fluent in English - French and German are nice to have
12 month contract + extensions
