For our customer in Zurich we are looking for a
Senior Sybase DBA
Your responsibilities:
Responsibility for technical management and coordination of issues and projects primarily involving installation, configuration and on-going administration tasks of Sybase databases and SQL Server Active participation in the resolution of system and performance issues.Close working relationship with other team members locally and globally to provide understanding across all competences of the database environments.DBA support for development teams and involvement in recommendations for new projects Additional function to provide advice and assistance in terms of developing and progressing the infrastructure environments, including the assessment of needs and recommend solution in an Enterprise IT.
Required Skills:
- 3 years experience of Sybase ASE database and Sybase Replication Server administration ideally within the financial sector
- Knowledge of Unix and Linux
- Good SQL and basic Scripting language (Perl, Shell) knowledge
- Experience with MS SQL Server 2005 and 2008
- Fluency in English
Ideal additional skills:
- Strong interpersonal, oral and written communication skills
- German skills are appreciated as candidates with German skills are favoured
