For our customer - a midsize financial services company - we are looking for a
Conceptually strong IT Security Specialist
Our customers business consists of two fully independent product streams, running on separate systems of which one is an outdated mainframe solution. This mainframe technology however contains certain specialties that are not covered by the newer environment. The main goal of the project is the migration of functionality and - at a later stage - customer data from theses mainframes to a state of the art MS SQL Server 2012 DB environment, that supports C#.Net and Sharepoint functionality. The newer environment running on MS SQL Server 2008 will eventually be updated to 2012, depending on the BI functionality that is required by the Business. This - of course - requires a general workover of the whole technical as well as conceptual IT Security Environment.
Tasks:
Design of IT Security protection ensuring and protecting production, staging, integration and development infrastructures running in 24x7 environments.
Develop implementation strategies that preserve the availability, performance, integrity, stability, and scalability of systems, consistent with cost constraints
Review technical designs
Develop design standards and guidelines, and mentor other architects and engineers on best practices
Define deliverables with our customers IT architecture and engineering department
Plan and support implementation of changes (projects)
Skills:
4+ years' experience as an IT Security Specialist, with concentration around servers, storage, networking, and virtualization technologies
Possess expertise in security technology infrastructure (directory services, distributed security architectures, security system management)
Have recognized skills in virtual private networks, firewalls, TCP/IP protocol, token systems, authentication systems
Be familiar with a wide range of operating systems
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Information Technology
Must be well versed in and have experience with software development and QA standards, IT policies and procedures, and technology standards
Ability to think on an enterprise level/be forward looking
Know how in the financial industry
Good skills in large scale IBM infrastructure environment, i.e. MQ Series, Websphere...
Collaboration Experience with C#.Net and Sharepoint development teams as well as MS SQL Database Engineering teams are a must
English skills are a must
Good German skills are a great asset
This is a 80%-100% contract, i.e. 4 to 5 days week, depending on workload. The duration of this contract will be 8 months minimum.
