We are looking for a Support AnalystSkills:
Strong Unix and SQL skills are a must.
C#, .NET, Sybase or Oracle database, Business Objects and Excel VBA development are very desirable.
Individuals must possess very strong verbal and written communication skills and be customer service orientated.
Candidates must be well organized, able to track several projects and items simultaneously and report back to affected parties on progress.
Candidates must be able to demonstrate project management skill utilized in previous roles, showing that they are able to execute a major initiative from beginning to end with minimal management oversight or direction.
Individuals will need to be able to run with a large project that is only vaguely defined in the beginning, locate sources of information on the subject, query those sources to learn about the current state of affairs, gather input from stakeholders on what needs to be delivered, and then use this information to make decisions about how to move forward with the project and draft a strategy.Organisational Structure
The Advisory IT GPS [Global Production Services] team is a dedicated application support and service delivery function of the top-ranked Research and Sales departments of our client. The team controls and regulates the production environment on behalf of Advisory management and users, as well as the Advisory IT development teams.
 
The role consists of providing Level 2 support to a proprietary suite of applications as a member of the team in Zurich. (The global team is located in New York, London, Zurich, Hong Kong and Sydney with a Level 1 desk in Singapore.) The team also manages a variety of IT projects, such as audits, Workstation platform upgrades, infrastructure initiatives, problem management, and on-boarding of new applications. 
  
Overall Responsibilities
 
Duties include, but are not limited to: During support shifts, resolve day-to-day support issues from users, ensuring effective and timely resolution.
Monitor all systems throughout the day and investigate any alerts.
Manage serious incidents to resolution, including any IT investigation and business communication.
Draft and maintain application documentation for training and troubleshooting.
Manage departmental projects from beginning to end, possibly implementing on one's own or liaising with others of the team or department.
Oversee infrastructure change and ensure it is successfully implemented.
Deliver and coordinate release management activity in the Swiss secure zone
BlackBerry on-call weekend cover as part of the global team rotation
Covering infrastructure events/BCM tests over the weekend
