Data Architect, Transformation program, Systems and Tools in Procurement and Sourcing
Environment/Project description:
The global Supply and Demand Management (SDM) department is transforming its systems and tools landscape.
Task & Responsibilities:
The data architect will analyze, design and reconfigure the data architecture of the target landscape of systems and tools. The architect needs to integrate a selection of shelf software products covering the value chain (global Source-to-Pay (S2P) solution) as well as profit center functionalities needed. The architect will incorporate the master data for the Procurement department into the newly- designed tool set. After choosing from a heterogeneous tools and systems set, the architect will define ownership of master data and how interfaces will be derived. In addition, standard formats of data fields need to be created after consultation with stakeholders. The architect will define a data model in accord with the principles of simplicity, ease of use for system consumers as well as attractive GUI screens. Moreover, from an infrastructure vantage point, the architect will increase efficiencies, lower costs by reducing complexity, as well as achieve lower maintenance and enhance system performance.
The successful architect will need to be agile and be able to traverse divergent streams of the project, in particular between Sourcing & Procurement stream and the COO/CFO stream and must be able to articulate all findings with an independent and rationale basis as well as articulate efficiencies to senior management during sign-off stages.
Deliverables:
Define target data model (with focus on interfaces, ownership of master data, maintenance of master data and standard formats of data fields)
Define baseline current state; conduct gap analysis; recommend implementation plan, highlight achievable efficiencies in data and infrastructure utilization
Share Best of Breed solutions from other organizations
Regularly report status updates to program management
Required Experience/Skills:
Undergraduate or graduate studies in computer science, programming, data architecture or information management
Sound knowledge of Source-to-Pay (S2P) processes and experience in evaluating and implementing S2P solutions
Knowledge of ERP systems ( eg SAP, Baan, ABACUS Business Software) not mandatory
Familiarity with Hadoop or similar Data Management Tool
Fluency in written and spoken English
Communication and presentation skills
Experience in data architecture design as well as prior successes in data base reengineering of tools and systems
Experience in integrating processes and data across multiple data domains
Experience in describing abstract concepts, designs and relationships within a data domain as it applies to many applications and products
