Description
Job Title: GERDA Solution Architect
ROLE PURPOSE
• Solution Architect responsible for providing technical subject matter expertise and leadership in the area of
Document Management and Archiving Services within the GxP compliant GERDA Services environment.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Act as the primary technical resource providing in-depth technical knowledge within the GERDA environment
in the support of the GERDA PMA/ScanArc applications
• Key contact interfacing with Basel IT, 3rd party vendors and the business partners in all phases of the conceptual,
design, development, implementation, transition and operations of the applications and underlying infrastructure supported by the GERDA
• Define, optimize and standardize the GERDA application, infrastructure and operations to ensure the Shared Services environment meets the targets defined in the SLA’s
• Ensure compliance of the GxP applications throughout all phases of the lifecycle, i.e., design, implementation, transition and operations and continuous improvement.
• Defining and maintaining knowledge about how the systems are related and ensuring that dependencies are understood and managed accordingly
• Ensure the consistent and reliable performance of the applications and infrastructure as per the defined performance, security and availability parameters.
• Developing,
• Identify (preferably proactively), together with solution providers; such as FirstDoc, OpenText, Documentum), any shortcomings in performance and propose solutions for their correction.
• Evaluate new developments and evolving business requirements and makes recommendations for improved service levels and efficiencies.
• Takes the lead in impact assessment and implementation of upgrades to application and infrastructure components (e.g. new builds, Oracle, WebLogic, Documentum)
• Develop application, component, data, and interface architecture for each application and project within the DMS Factory Shared environment
• Evaluate alternative approaches, prototype as needed, recommend solutions, create and maintain documentation
• Create specifications for components and interfaces
• Analyze, design, realize and implement solutions within the GERDA, including:
• Devising functional and conceptual design specifications,
• Data and process modeling,
• Developing prototypes,
• Developing unit/integration testing programs using the defined software development environment.
• Serve as technical mentor to the 1st and 2nd Level Support team
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS
• BSc in Computer Science or comparable education or experience
• Experience in implementation of and adherence to best practices such as ITIL, COBIT, IT Security, Data Privacy
• 8+ years of experience with the OpenText, iXOS, perl, J2EE, PHP
• Experience in providing shared services in a GxP, multi vendor and multi customer environment
• In depth knowledge of Java, J2EE, Scanning and archiving (OpenText- LARS (Adlib products), PDMS, Developing of SOTs based on iXOS, Oracle, PERL, PHP, Unix and Shell Scripts, Enterprise Scan Client, Kofax,
• In depth knowledge and understanding of multi-tiered application/infrastructure technology in a shared services environment.
• Excellent understanding of AIX/ Unix and Microsoft Windows operating systems
• Significant expertise in requirements analysis, design, implementation. Asset, configuration, change, incident and problem management
• Demonstrated ability in handling complex, technical issues and providing timely solutions
• Experience in mentoring a team of technical resources
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills (English)
