PeopleSoft Developer
For our client in Basel, Switzerland we are looking for a skilled PeopleSoft Developer for a longterm contract.
Main tasks:
-Scopes, analyses, designs, tests and develops enhancements to the existing Peoplesoft Financials and HR environments; ensure maintenance and support as well as required technical upgrade and patching cycles.
-Undertakes analysis of business requirements, extracts technological needs out of users' requirements and translates them into detailed system specifications.
-Ensures that the design meets business requirements and that the stakeholders have understanding of the benefits, drawbacks, risks, costs and time scales of design decisions.
-For designated systems, prepares system test cases and plans, and assists customers in preparing their test cases. Executes, records, analyses and reports results of system tests.
-Ensures all appropriate systems documentation is prepared and maintained in accordance with standards and conventions in place.
-Provides support for designated production systems on her/his own or with help of internal or external resources.
-Keeps Line Manager and Project Manager informed of progress, risks and timeline challenges.
Qualifications and work experience required:
-University degree or equivalent professional experience.
-At least five years' experience as an application developer with PeopleSoft Enterprise: Financials (Must) and HRMS (Strong asset).
-Sufficient Functional knowledge to design solutions and produce Functional Specifications with business users.
-Understanding of business processes in the area of Finance, Procurement and ideally, Human Resources.
-Experience of configuring and supporting PeopleSoft application and web server infrastructure on Windows Servers.
-High level of proficiency in use of PeopleSoft toolset including: Application Designer, PeopleCode, Application Engine, XML Publisher, Workflow, Application Messaging, SQR.
-Experience with documentation standards, good at providing useable system documentation.
-Experience with testing techniques.
-Experience with Business Objects and other non-PeopleSoft reporting tools would be an asset.
Skills required:
-Very good communication skills; establish strong working relationships with business areas and infrastructure teams.
-Ability to take the initiative, organise own work, flexible and service-oriented and ability to perform under pressure.
-Good problem solving and root cause analysis approach.
-Ability to formally document and communicate complex system specifications.
-Excellent teamwork and close cooperation with other IT groups such as Production Services, Security & Architecture and Infrastructure Design teams will be essential.
-Fluent in English (oral and written).
