ROLE PURPOSE

The Systems Development Team will source, develop, deliver and maintain business applications that will be used by the Trading Division. Specifically, this position will work on the following areas of solution delivery:
*Database management and analysis
*Development and maintenance of business reports from various databases
*Provide Technical support (Level 2-3) for database system problem resolution

ACCOUNTABILITIES

Project Involvement:
*Actively participates in team projects, contribute ideas, and support team plans/decisions for successful project implementation.
*Ability to lead the execution of small to medium size project/s when needed
*Develop and deliver working systems and reports according to business requirements with adherence to time, cost, quality and standards.
*Communicates progress/status of assigned projects/tasks, anticipates risks and recommend solutions to address issues
*Works with available resources to deliver assigned tasks on agreed schedule

Direction Received:
*General supervision will be given.
*Able to take own initiative to move forward the assigned tasks/projects

YOUR PROFILE

*Degree in Computer Science or related area
*Technical hands-on systems development experiences using
*Oracle and/or MSSQL
*Visual Studio, C#, .Net
*Web Services (IIS or equivalent)
*PL/SQL Scripting
*Crystal Reports, Business Objects or similar products
*Experience across the SDLC
*Strong Database Design and Administration skills
*Commercial systems development experience within the Commodities Trading space, particularly in Grains and other agricultural products trading environment.
*Knowledge of commodities trading business processes
*Experience Allegro or other Commodity Trading system experience

*Ability to learn and adapt the business processes, relate with the processes, and recommend viable alternatives to achieve intended results.
*Ability to identify IT opportunities for improvement and apply best practices available in the work area (ie process streamlining, reporting tools and standards, etc.)
*Ability to keep abreast with technology to ensure skills and knowledge remain current and be able to relate and apply with the solutions being delivered to the business

Technical Competency:
*Ability to leverage standard technologies effectively to achieve intended results.
*Able to Assess new technologies, industry practices, whenever required, and apply viable solutions to the work environment to improve efficiency or reduce cost.
*Ability to develop and/or implement technical solutions required by the business

Administration and Operations Support:
*Complies with the established set of work standards
*Maintain updated systems/applications development documentation
*Coordinates schedules and related tasks with other team members or other IT groups
