Business Applications Developer required for long term role based in Basel, Switzerland following initial training on client products provided in the UK. The Developer role is to provide implementation services, integration development, and training services whilst being located on Customer Site.
Skills summary - SQL databases, Front End web development, VB.NET/C#/C++, Implementation and integration development.
Main duties:-
- Creating and maintaining documentation (including training materials), Acting as the Single Point of contact between the Customer and Client,
- Providing reports and metrics to both Customer and client organisations, Manage the hand-over of engineered solutions, 2nd and 3rd Level Support - troubleshooting within the Customer environment, liaising with the client Helpdesk for support.
The following competencies are required:
- Degree or equivalent in a technical Computer Science related subject.
- PC literacy, with high level of proficiency in Windows operating systems and Microsoft Office applications.
- Good experience performing implementation services, integration development, and associated consulting; large clients preferred.
- Very good knowledge/experience of SQL databases (understand and write complex SQL Statements)
- Excellent written and verbal communication in English language
- Must be able to work in Basel, Switzerland on a Monday to Friday basis.
All of the above competencies are essential. A strong technical aptitude is essential, and familiarity with Client Server applications and relational databases is highly required.
The following competencies are desired:
- Knowledge of Visual Basic, C, C++, or C#.
- Experience with graphics development tools such as Adobe Premier Pro, Photoshop, and After Effects.
- Knowledge of HTML, XML, ASP, PHP, IIS, and general web development is a plus.
- Knowledge of Audio/Video standards and distribution, and digital signage.
- Experience with Web Services, SOAP, J2EE, .NET is a plus.
- Ability to manage others in the context of deadlines and competing demands.
