Senior Java Engineers Records Management - Zurich, Switzerland - Tier 1 Global Investment Bank
Job Description:
Records Management IT globally oversees the whole life cycle of 30+ applications to ensure archiving management and retrieval as a critical key functionality interfacing with core banking systems, operations, output management, financial control, L&C and communications.
As a Java Senior Engineer you will be contributing to the whole life cycle of a set of application encompassing design and implementation as well as the maintenance and 3rd level support.
In addition to hands-on implementation and 3rd level support tasks you will:
- Liaise with Business Analysis to contribute to requirements engineering process and respective reviews
- Work in close cooperation with IT Architecture and IT Security to agree on the design and any major change planned aligned with the solution's strategy and architectural principles
- Conduct effort estimates for the project's engineering and integration tasks as well as for the anticipated 3rd level support
- Support the Project Manager with the creation and assignment of engineering work packages
- Liaise with IT Production to agree on technical documentation to be delivered and other operational requirements to be met
- Liaise with the Project Manager to plan all engineering quality assurance measures such as design and code reviews, review of IT specification and other technical documentation
- Lead and co-ordinate all engineering quality assurance measures as agreed upon with the Project Manager
- Ensure 3rd level support for the applications in scope

From a technical view point you should have in depth knowledge and profound experience (during the last 5 years) in the following areas:
- Problem analysis in a complex environment encompassing standard
- Java and J2EE skills including clearly demonstrated knowledge of J2EE design patterns
- Knowledge of J2EE component architecture, especially Back End and security integration
- WebSphere and Oracle knowledge, SQL, XML, Shell Scripting, Perl
- UNIX, Wintel and Mainframe experience as a System Engineer would be a plus
- Storage and archiving solutions, product knowledge of OpenText and Content Manager OnDemand would be a plus
- IT Security (authentication, authorisation, cryptography, certificate management) would be a plus
