Contractor required for "Test Engineer" opportunity with our prestigious Swiss banking client in Zurich
Elan is seeking a "Test Engineer" to join an international team
The Role:
- Provision, Maintain and Control centrally managed development and test environments for programs
- Manage the overall Build of the development and test environments, maintain and fix environmental issues
- Schedule usage of E2E test environments (including interfacing systems)
- Head the Configuration and Release Management function
- (Test) Environment installation, preparation/configuration and integration (~ 10 interfacing systems )
- Enable test team to generate test data
- Good technical understanding of
- databases (oracle 10/11)
- Unix (Solaris10, Linux)
- Windows
- Shell Scripting, Perl, Unix packaging
- Electronic communication systems (mail, chat, social media) technical skills
- Avoid implementation issues resulting from the release of incorrect or incompatible versions of software into the production environment.
- Avoid invalidating testing success resulting from the release of incorrect or incompatible versions of software in test environments.
- Enable optimum planning of releases into production or test environments.
- Enable dependencies between releases to be more clearly understood.
Requirements:
- In excess of 7 years experience in IT working on large global vendor managed rollouts
- Experience in environment management in different technologies
- Sound knowledge of SDLC & ITIL
- Experienced in Configuration Management & Release Management processes and should be able to suggest process improvements
- Good technical and operational documentation skills
- A very good command of English
Desireable:
- Ability to communicate in German
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with disciplined and structured approach
- Experience of Managing Complex and Demanding Global Clients
- Experience in 3rd Party Vendor Implementations
- Records Management knowledge is considered as an advantage
Start: ASAP
Duration: 6 months (with chance for extensions)
