Contractor required for 'Application Developer' opportunity with our prestigious Swiss banking client in Zurich
Elan is seeking a 'Application Developer' to join an international team
Tasks:
Work in a team to develop sustainable state of the art solutions that drive Structured Products business forward
Deliver first grade business value by implementing adequate solutions in an agile, cost-efficient and goal focused manner
Help the business to optimize existing and new processes and define creative and smooth new ways of increasing returns in a challenging environment
Apply professional development techniques as part of a team to deliver high quality solutions in a timely manner
Design and implement service oriented n-tier solutions that focus on straight-through-processing capabilities, simplicity, maintainability and availability
Test, document and release created products
Implement additional needed books in Front Office Trading Systems as Fenics, Endur and Front Arena
Develop/Enhance Interfaces from Front Office Systems to Back Office Systems
Implement request from Product Control, Risk, Midoffice for the structured products business
Implement/Generate standard Reports for Product Control, Risk and Midoffice
Help plan deliveries and tasks using agile methodologies and verbally report progress against plan on a daily basis
Help implementing code metrics and defining development and quality standards
Your profile:
Several years of relevant experience as a software developer, ideally in a banking/finance (high plus structured products environment) environment
Good knowledge of development practices such as Unit Testing, Mocking, Version Control, Design Patterns, Continuous Integration
Basic knowledge of financial theories, processes and instruments
Very good English skills
Systematic, focused approach of tackling problems, analytical, creative and flexible way of thinking, self-dependency, ability to work under pressure, reliability, open communication and high customer-focus
Work Place: Zürich
Start Date is planned for: ASAP
Duration: 6 months
