Senior Engineer - Banking - Zurich
Senior Engineer is required to join a leading banking organization in Zurich. As the Senior Engineer you will join the Records Management IT team who oversee the whole life cycle of 30+ applications to ensure archiving management and retrieval as a critical key functionality interfacing with core banking systems, operations, output management, financial control, L&C and communications.
As a Senior Engineer you will be contributing to the whole life cycle of a set of applications encompassing design and implementation as well as the maintenance and 3rd level support.
In addition to hands-on implementation and 3rd level support tasks you will:
*Liaise with Business Analysis to contribute to requirements engineering process and respective reviews
*Work in close cooperation with IT Architecture and IT Security to agree on the design of any major change planned aligned with the solution's strategy and architectural principles
*Conduct effort estimates for the project's engineering and integration tasks as well as for the anticipated 3rd level support
*Support the Project Manager with the creation and assignment of engineering work packages
*Liaise with IT Production to agree on technical documentation to be delivered and other operational requirements to be met
*Liaise with Project Manager to plan all engineering quality assurance measures such as design and code reviews, review of IT specification and other technical documentation
*Lead and co-ordinate all engineering quality assurance measures as agreed upon with the Project Manager
*Ensure 3rd level support for the applications in scope
From a technical point of view you should have in depth knowledge and experience in the following areas:
*e2e software development life cycle with focus on the integration of 3rd party components
*Problem analysis in a complex environment with remote, multi-tiered installations
*UNIX (Solaris, Linux) as a system engineer, Wintel and Mainframe experience would be a plus
*SQL, PL/SQL, XML, Perl, Shell Scripting, packaging, configuration management
*Oracle and DB2 product knowledge, RDBMS modelling and development, DBA experience would be a plus
*storage and archiving solutions, product knowledge of OpenText and Content Manager OnDemand would be a plus
*IT Security (authentication, authorization, cryptography, certificate mgmt, etc.)
*Excellent communication skills (English, German is beneficial)
My client is offering an initial 6 months contract paying 500 - £550 CHF per day
