Connect44 is looking for an experienced Senior Fixed Core Engineer (with Teamleader potential) for our client.
Location: Zurich, Switzerland
Start date: ASAP
Duration: 3 months initial contract aiming for permanent employment

Tasks and duties
a) Lead, organize and develop the core engineering team of 10-12 highly qualified engineers, overlooking both the Fixed Network (CS2K/HiE/EWSD/SBC) and the mobile network (CS & PS, NSN, Ericsson, in future Huawei) according to the companies standards and processes
b) Support with the team the product development process in the areas of fixed and mobile CS and PS networks
c) Ensure with the team the life cycle management of all assigned platforms and lead controlled network growth
d) Ensure with the team conceptual network reliability, redundancy and quality of service aspect in the domain of fixed and mobile voice/data traffic by constant monitoring and planning network elements and interfaces
e) Maintain close contact and interfaces with the customers departments, support in strategic decisions regarding network development and product roadmaps
f) Provide network design and network changes proposals (optimization and/or planning) based on traffic changes and forecasts or project requests mainly in the VoIP/Fixed Network domain
g) Provide project management for network changes, extensions
h) Initiate and support internal implementations within networks
i) Build guidelines on how to grow the network in a controlled and structured manner
Responsibilities & accountabilities
a) Ensure appropriate Engineering workforce to address current and upcoming projects and tasks in the Core Network Area
b) Ensure motivation and customer orientation in the Core Network Engineering team, thus ensuring customer satisfaction as first priority
c) Ensure open minded attitude in the team for fruitful relations with equipment vendors and other departments (consultancy towards Marketing and Network Operations)
d) Fixed core systems responsibility (HiE/CS2K/EWSD)
e) Guarantee the necessary traffic capacity the fixed network, by monitoring and planning the related interfaces and network elements.

Education: Degree in Engineering
Practical experience:
a) Must have worked several years in an Engineering and/or Operations environment in a telecommunication company (Operator or supplier), preferably using NSN or Huawei equipment
b) Strong leadership skills, several years experience as manager of teams or units
c) Very good communication and presentation skills
d) Project Management skills
e) Entrepreneurial thinking
f) Preferably outsourcing experience
