Vendor Management Responsible

Location: Basel, Switzerland

Term: 18 months

GENERAL INFORMATION

JOB PURPOSE

  • The Vendor management responsible will manage Commercial activities and relations, with very high complexity and with significant impact.
  • Experienced in service transition programs, is the escalation point for PMs for vendor performance issues, and is as well responsible to support the NOM Team in vendor selection processes.
  • The Vendor Management is responsible for developing processes and tools to enable ongoing performance, service level agreement monitoring and validates the delivery of key contract obligations, milestones, and deliverables.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Resolve contractual disputes related to projects/initiatives, by taking advantage of all available remedies and resolution processes within the contracts
  • Establish robust vendor governance framework and supporting processes
  • Identify and manage critical contract terms
  • Establish processes and tools to enable ongoing performance and service level agreement monitoring, and validate the delivery of key contract obligations, milestones, and deliverables
  • Identify and implement strategies to address deficiencies in service and performance
  • Continually evaluate the long term health of the relationship as well as the available alternative offerings in the marketplace
  • Incentivize the vendor to maintain a high level of service through the application of best practices and new technologies
  • Evolve the supplier relationship from a purely transactional relationship to a strategic partnership
  • Continually manage the vendor environment to maximize leverage and identify the preferred supplier for each additional procurement
  • Develop best-in-class Supply Chain processes (eg, procure-to-pay)

KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS/MEASURES OF SUCCESS

  • All vendor disputes cleared with minimum disruption for the Projects or initiatives
  • Vendors deliver quality deliverables and comply with the agreed contract Terms
  • Vendor selection processes are handled efficiently and with proficiency

ROLE REQUIREMENTS

  • Must have at least five years demonstrable experience in IT Project and Program Management negotiation and commercial management of contracts with significant spend.
  • Excellent negotiator and stakeholder management capability
  • Creative and detail oriented with sound planning and organizational skills
  • Extensive enterprise level vendor management knowledge.
  • Excellent written, oral and presentational communication skills.
  • Exceptional customer service skills.
  • Confident and experienced in dealing with disputes and issues, working with vendors and creating pragmatic commercial solutions to business requirements
  • Self-motivated, dynamic and able to work with minimal supervision and capable of working in a fast pace environment with the ability to react quickly and prioritise deadlines.
  • Works with other functional teams to ensure that optimal commercial and contractual outcomes are achieved on behalf of the business.
  • Ability to influence others and move toward a common vision or goal.
  • Demonstrable leadership skills within a global Matrix organization
  • Familiarity with project management approaches, tools and phases of the project life cycle.
  • Good awareness of IT Transformation
  • Proven ability to develop effective relationships and to work at all levels of the company including senior and executive management. Experience working effectively across divisional lines in a complex, multi-site organization
  • Extensive internal financial, vendor management and consulting experience
  • Experience negotiating large external vendor contracts
  • Excellent leadership, communication (written and oral), presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Results oriented and possess excellent analytical, facilitation and strategic planning skills
  • Exceptional communication skills - both written and verbal.
  • Able to work effectively at all levels in an organization.
  • Excellent active listening skills.
  • Ability to lead global, multicultural, multifunctional teams
