Must have skills:
- C++ programming in multi-threaded, high performance message processing on Solaris and Linux, (POSIX)
- Java (J2SE) multi-threaded, high performance, low latency client request processing
- Strong OOA/OOD (5 years current experience)
- Experience with high performance, high throughput systems
- Messaging technologies (JMS, XML, HTTP, Design Patterns)
- Test driven development experience
Nice to have skills:
- Java GUI know-how (eg SWT, Swing)
- Banking knowledge
As an experienced C++ Developer, you will have a minimum of 5 years development experience in multi-threaded high performance message processing on Solaris and Linux environments. You will enjoy working within a small strong team of software engineers. In addition you will be highly skilled in multi-threaded Java programming. You will be meticulous in your programming and will enjoy producing high quality software. The role will demand analysis, detailed design, implementation and test aspects to the development life cycle, together with third level production support within a Global Investment Bank. This is an long term opportunity with an initial 12 month contract that will be extended provided both candidate and bank are satisfied.
You will be working on a large custom distributed in-memory cache database which provides fast access to data from a Legacy system. The cached items are static data used by various applications which support business processes of Foreign Exchange workflow
- This is a long term project and only those prepared to commit to living and working in Zurich will be considered. This role will not suit weekend commuters.
