On behalf of a major Pharma client we are urgently looking for an Senior Data Center Architect for a contracting role in Basel (Switzerland).
Job dimension:
Autonomy: responsible for business critical, complex data center migrations in a very large/complex IT organization Complexity: working together with management teams providing advice regarding system architecture, migration requirements and schedule. Role purpose:
Analyze technical architecture to ensure the proposed architecture is fully compliant with internal architectural policies, roadmap and Data Center Governance Analyze and assess technical feasibility for proposed architecture Identify risks around proposed architecture and ensure risks are logged and followed up in time Provide forecast to Data Center capacity team and migration factories Escalate issues beyond authority to the Head of Governance. Major accountabilities:
Define, optimize and standardize the IT architecture on a global basis within the Program Ensure that the installed architecture satisfies defined performance, security and availability parameters Identify proactively (together with IT solution provider) shortcomings in performance and propose solutions Evaluate new technological developments and make recommendations for improved service levels and efficiencies Provide in-depth technical and business knowledge to ensure efficient design, programming and implementation Develop reports and presentations on infrastructure products and new technology for all management levels Write related documentation and communicate Keep awareness of the cost effectiveness of IT infrastructure solutions within Pharma Development Achieve customer satisfaction on infrastructure performance, security, availability and quality of advice Focus on implementing new systems architectures according to agreed schedules and master project management. Professional experience required:
In-depth technical knowledge in: Virtualization (ESX, VM, LPAR), Operating Systems (Linux, X86 Windows, AIX systems), Storage- and Computing-Systems, Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions, Data Center Management, infrastructure-related topics in general At least 5 years of experience in a data center domain role in a global company At least fully responsibility as team lead for a successful data center project Very good communication and social skills to act successfully in a multi-vendor, multi-customer and multi-year program environment Demonstrated leaderships skills, minimum of 5 years proven management experience within a Matrix organization Methodology: savvy in IT process, best practices & standards, eg ITIL sound knowledge of validation practice: GxP/SOX In-depth knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure and related technical integration aspects University degree or adequate equivalent, desirable Master degree Fluent English (written & spoken), other languages are a plus.
