Job Title: Senior Architect General in Data Center Domain

Location: Switzerland

Term: 18 Months plus more extensions for another 18 months

Deadline for CV's to be received: Thursday 12th July am

Major Accountabilities

- Define, optimize and standardize the IT architecture on a global basis within the Program.
- Plan and organize the implementation of new systems architectures and provide consulting.
- Ensure that the installed architecture satisfies defined performance, security and availability parameters.
- Identify (preferably proactively), together with the IT solution provider, any shortcomings in performance and propose solutions for their correction. Ensure adequacy of upgrades.
- Evaluate new technological developments and evolving business requirements and makes recommendations for improved service levels and efficiencies.
- Act as the primary technical resource to client and IT staffs in all phases of development and implementation process.
- Provide in-depth technical and business knowledge to ensure efficient design, programming and implementation.
- Develop reports and presentations on infrastructure products and new technology for all levels of management and technical staff.

As Governance Architect:

- Analyze technical architecture to ensure the proposed architecture is fully compliant with the company's architectural policies and roadmap as well as with Data center Governance.
- Analyze and assess technical feasibility for proposed architecture.
- Identify risks (operational and compliance) around the proposed architecture and ensure identified risks are logged, followed up, and closed in a timely manner.
- Escalate issues beyond authority to the Head of Governance.

Education/Experience

Education

- Minimum education: University degree or adequate equivalent.
- Desirable education: Masters degree.
- Languages: Fluent English written & spoken

Professional experience

- In-depth technical knowledge in the following areas: Virtualization (ESX, VM, LPAR), Operating Systems (diverse Linux Systems, X86 Windows, AIX), Storage- and Computing-Systems, Backup and Disaster Recovery solutions, Data Center Management, infrastructure-related topics in general.
- Very good communication and social skills to maneuver successfully in a multi-vendor, multi-customer and multi-year program environment
- At least 5 years of experience in a data center domain role in a global company.
- At least fully responsible as team lead for a successful data center project.
- Leadership: demonstrated leaderships skills, > 5 years proven management experience within a Matrix organization (eg as a team leader or in project management).
- Customer Orientation: ability to communicate & align with key IT stakeholders.
- Methodology: savvy in IT process, best practices & standards, eg ITIL.
- GxP/SOX: sound knowledge of validation practice.
- In-depth knowledge and experience in IT infrastructure and related technical integration aspects.
- Ability to cope with project and operations complexities, ambiguities and Matrix organizations

Mobility requirements

- Local travel between the data centers (up to 10%) is important.
