Project Management Office - Communication Manager

Role purpose:

Working closely with the GIS and business IT organizations to develop and facilitate the delivery of the communications strategy for a major IT change program designed to deliver world class IT infrastructure.

Reporting:

  • Full time temporary contract.
  • Reporting to Program Lead with a dotted line report to the Head GIS Communications.
  • Based in the Basel Data Center Consolidation PMO.

Key responsibilities

  • Work closely with the Basel Data Center Consolidation PMO, Project Leads and Service Line owners to help them segment and identify the communications needs of each stakeholder group and develop appropriate plans.
  • Provide training and coaching to Project Leads and Service Line owners around key communications skills - communications planning, stakeholder analysis, writing skills.
  • Work with the Basel Data Center Consolidation PMO, Project Leads and Service Line owners to ensure message alignment, coordination and a consistent tone and language.
  • Collaborate and closely align with stakeholders (Global, Divisional IT, GIS) and other communication groups where required (PBO).
  • Work with Project Managers and Service Line owners to develop appropriate feedback mechanisms to establish the effectiveness of communications and ensure continuous improvement.
  • Identify requirements for new Basel Data Center Consolidation program communication channels and develop appropriate solutions. This includes two-way channels.
  • Produce regular update reports.
  • Assist Program Manager in the preparation and review of presentations, email communications, program news, interviews, personnel and other announcements, newsletters, speeches.
  • Maintain communication templates and tools.
  • Responsible for the content of the Program Intranet site.

Experience

  • Proven track record of successfully managing communications for large, complex IT change projects.
  • Educated to at least degree level.
  • Used to operating at a senior level.
  • Successfully implemented new communications tools and channel appropriate to the audience.
  • Eight years plus experience - desirable.

Knowledge:

  • Drivers of organizational change and business impact.
  • Operating in large corporate environments, complex in structure.
  • Crisis communication management.
  • Change management theory and practice.
  • Good understanding of the strategic role of communications to effect positive transformational change and achievement of business objectives.

Location: Basel

Start date: Mid July (negotiable)
