RMDS Market Data Contribution Engineer

Our client Market Data Engineering team is looking for a Market Data Contribution Engineer in Zürich.
ROLE SUMMARY:
The person appointed will be working in the Market Data Engineering team which has a total of 6 engineers based in Zürich.
The role is responsible for:
- the design, testing and implementation of Market Data Contribution solution based on Thomson Reuters RMDS and Thomson Reuters Gissing ConteX systems
- working with a team of Engineers (Zürich and global team) to create/approve designs and develop global standards
- interfacing with end users/developers and other engineering teams (eg technical infrastructure services team)
- act as a consultant to the operations teams to provide 3rd line assistance.
- deployment of additional market data enterprise products and software upgrades
Qualifications/competencies (Please refer below for a complete list of competencies.)
- Undergraduate Degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering or closely related disciplines or equivalent work experience.
- Advanced Scripting skills are essential such as Shell (sh/csh/bash) and Perl
- Basic SQL know-how
- Working Experience with Thomson Reuters RMDS Back End infrastructure
- Working Experience with Thomson Reuters Gissing ConteX or similar (PICOS/Heag)
- An understanding of networks is required
- Working experience with Unix/Linux RedHat/Windows Server Operating systems
Other desirable skills include:
- RFA/SFC API knowledge
- XML and XML related technologies (XML-Schemas, XSLT)
- ITRS NetAgent
Divisional Overview and/or Departmental Overview/Relative Links
The Market Data Technology team is responsible for:
* Thomson Reuters Market Data distribution systems for all divisions
* SIX Information Services (formerly SIX Telekurs) Market Data distribution systems for all divisions
* Market Data Vendor Contribution systems (Thomson Reuters, Bloomberg, SIX and others)
* Delivery of Market, Research and Fundamental data to Online Banking Platform
* Development and maintenance of system monitoring/data usage tools
* Systems integration of S/W upgrades and new market data products
* Project work to meet business requirements
* Third line support
* Developer support of market data APIs
* Liaison with other support teams (eg Trade Floor Support, UNIX/NT, Network groups and application development)
