Connect44 is looking for an experienced Network Infrastructure Engineer
Start Date: September 3, 2012
Contract: 6 months rolling
Work Location: Zurich with substantial travelling withinSwitzerland
Main Responsibilities
Technical Scope
- Manages projects, processes and concepts in the service areas of preventive and corrective maintenance for following infrastructure: Electrical installations (power cabinets, batteries, transformers etc.),
- HVAC (Heating-Ventilation-Air-Conditioning), external alarm systems, fire extinguisher systems, enclosures, steel work, etc.
- Provides technical support to field engineers/technicians of the Field Services regions.
- Technical lead for 5 Site Infrastructure Engineers (SIEs).
- Responsible for the Electrical Safety Concept.
- Seeks for productivity, quality and cost improvements.
- Performs financial controlling in his area of responsibilities and ensures reporting is available.
- Ensures interfaces to other Huawei departments like site engineering (life cycle exchange), accounting, procurement.
- Ensures appropriate documentation of relevant technical knowledge, eg technical concepts, guidelines, processes, checklists.
- Contributes to and works in the elaboration of new strategies in the field of his assigned responsibilities.
- Contributes that processes and work practices are being followed in aligned way in all Field Services regions.
- Ensures and performs professionalcontractand vendor management, including service performance management, cost and quality control.
Customer Management
Assures customer facing functions on operational level.
Organizational aspects
- Provides a support function towards Huawei internal customers (mainly 4 regions).
- Has the technical lead across the 4 regions in the field of his assigned responsibilities.
- On need-base, presents topics in the Field Services Management meeting.
Qualifications:
- Basic technical education in a field related to network infrastructure (preferable
- electrical background)
- Project management education
- Electro control license (advantage)
- Is able to communicate in German and in English
Experience:
- 6 to 10 years of experience in a similar role in telecommunications.
- Understanding of network technologies (wireless and Wireline).
- Operation and Maintenance awareness of wireless and Wireline networks.
- Experience and knowledge about telecom infrastructure
- Has experience in the area of project leading.
- Has experience in the area of a service- or maintenance organization
- Has already collected work experience in a process oriented surrounding (company).
- Experienced dealing with suppliers
- Experience with process oriented work environment
