Field Maintenance Technician
Our client in beautiful Switzerland is looking for various Field maintenance technicians for a project based in Ticino, a very nice sunny location in Switzerland.
Post Mission
Be responsible for fault handling and proactive maintenance of regional mobile and fixed telecom network sites. Assist NOC with field operation of change implementation and be responsible for assigned work requests.
Main Responsibilities
Installation, maintenance and servicing of all transmission and communications equipment at end-Customers premises and also in the Customer-owned fixed network.
Integration, maintenance and fault-restoration in the area of customers wireless Base-Stations including their link structure respecting agreed SLA.
Hardware up- and downgrades as well as software updates in the area of customers BSS and RAN.
Maintenance, monitoring and fault finding in the building infrastructure at customers sites.
Periodical site-checks.
Appointment co-ordination and site access organization.
Making any necessary tests and measurements.
Fault localization and clearing in the communications network in cooperation with carriers, suppliers and NOC.
Escorting and supervision of third party personnel in the sites when needed.
Taking on on-call duties.
To carry out preventive maintenance in all responsible sites in the mobile network based on the preventive maintenance plan, clean the field environment, and ensure the normal network operation and low fault rate
To assist NOC in change operation according to the NOC requirement
Qualifications:
Preferably advanced education in telecom technologies (eg. Telematician)
Recognized apprenticeship in the electrical and/or telecom area (eg electrician, multimedia technician, etc.).
Able to communicate in German and English.
Experience:
1 to 5 years of experience as telecommunications engineer mandatory.
Experience in data and voice communications, Wireline or Wireless would be an advantage.
Skills:
Familiar with field maintenance skills and tools
Logical and structured way of thinking and acting in order to localize and isolate technical problems.
Other:
For wireless works, no suffering from vertigo is an extra requirement (mast-climbing and ascending ladders). Climbing ability is mandatory.
