Our client, a large multinational based in Switzerland is currently seeking a BI Consultant with experience of Cognos.
You will perform BI related maintenance services to areas which include Change management, implementation coordination and sustain for the hared Global Reporting platform - Cognos.
Service Ownership of the Shared Global Reporting platform..
Provide technical support for Cognos Reporting to the project teams and Regions.
Proactively manage the Cognos Reporting environments and ensure continuous availability and performance.
Update and maintain the relevant documentation.
This is achieved by supporting Business Solutions, IS/IT Services, the zones and market users on all aspects of Business Intelligence for Cognos platforms.
Specific responsibilities are
Ensure that the Cognos-based reporting solutions which the team is accountable for are running smoothly without disruptions;
Ensure that new requirements and changes are implemented within agreed time, cost and quality parameters via a controlled release process;
Support, advise, troubleshoot and facilitate development of Cognos BI solutions with other project managers;
Ensure proper stakeholder management.
For actual Cognos Support:
2nd/3rd level of support for incidents
Investigate root causes of problems, incl. logs analysis
Identify and manage continuous improvement initiatives
Liaise with Cognos, business solutions teams, and infrastructure teams to resolve issues
Contribute to making sure useful knowledge is capitalized through documentation, etc
Team work with SAP BI and Microsoft Reporting specialists for investigating issues
Contribute to the Service ownership of the Cognos environment.
Coordinate global technical changes (updates, patches, upgrades), incl. creation/maintenance of procedures
System Maintenance:
Application Administration, incl. Security, Datasources, Deployments
Configure Cognos environment: configs for specific functionalities, common configs and objects
Monitor systems activities (schedules )
Contribute to implementation of changes, incl. planning, tests, issue fixing
Support Cognos BI developments:
Support project teams and key-users on development studios and modelling tools
Develop, maintain, and improve reports owned by the sustain team
