Project environment:This role reports directly to the Foreign Exchange and Money Market business line's Finance Product Controller (PC) of a Swiss bank. The primary function of this role will be to provide a daily Global Profit and Loss (PNL) analysis to the trading desk. This role furthermore supports the local finance team through accounting and control analysis. Cash Trading Products will include one of the following: Loans and Deposits, FX cash, IRS, OIS/TOIS, FRA, Futures, Repo and Reverse.
Tasks:
• Making sure that the profit and loss as well as the balance sheet of the business unit is understood. This is essentially made through daily PNL, commentaries, risk based PNL as well as various balance sheet reconciliations and monthly sign-off process.
• The funding of all business areas of the bank is going through this team. This role therefore requires detailed analysis as well as heavy interaction between other business unit controllers, financial controllers, traders and operation department.
• We are currently going through a series of changes to meet our new target operating model; thus this role will also include active project participation for project initiatives and testing.
Requirements:
• Bachelor's Degree
• Good Finance and accounting knowledge required
• CPA / MBA or equivalent Preferred but not required
• 5 years experience in Product control or equivalent
• Computer literate, Excel required Access a plus
• Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills
• Ability to produce quality materials within tight timeframes and simultaneously manage several projects
• Ability to participate in and facilitate group meetings
• Ability to analyze financial data and prepare financial reports, statements and projections.
• Working knowledge of short and long term budgeting and forecasting, rolling budgets, and product-line profitability analysis
