Technical Editor - Pharma - Switzerland
Technical Editor with strong experience required, to work on a project within a major pharmaceutical in Switzerland
The main responsibility of the Technical Editor will be maintenance of consistency among different documents and maintenance of glossary and style.
It is mandatory that the Technical Editor has sufficient subject matter expertise in writing consistent policy/guidelines framework in Pharmaceutical or related industry.
Responsibilities
- Making the written content more readable to people (checking content of writers, looking for and correcting all types of errors, and enhancing quality of the written content).
- Reviewing textual matter, correcting and rewriting the work of writers.
- Condensing, correcting or arranging written material and images with the objective of preparing it for final presentation.
- Maintaining area glossary and implementing consistently across all documentation in the area
- While reviewing written material, they may make suggestions to the writer on how to improve the work, and often offer title options.
- Editor also oversees the layout and appearance of articles, which may include duties such as overseeing artwork, design and/or photography.
- Professionals are experts in written communication, and very well know how to present information in a way readers will understand easily.

Preferred qualifications & experience
- 10 years of work experience in the field of journalism, copywriting, editing, required with at least 5 years exposure to GxP and SoX regulations
- Editors hold a bachelor degree in either English language or journalism. Sometimes, other bachelor degree is acceptable, more so in the fields of technical or special-interest writing.
Location: Basel - Switzerland
Duration: 11.6.2012 - 31.12.2012 (with option for extension)
Hourly rate: negotiable
