Senior Cognos BI Consultant

IBM Cognos BI Consultant Environment Development Tool(s) and Platform(s)
* Cognos versions 8 and 10
* Tools: all Studios, Framework Manager, Transformer, Access Manager, Configuration Manager
* Database knowledge and experience with tools like Toad
* Web tools and programming skills with Java, JavaScript, PHP, JSP
* 7+ years of experience with each of the four above Primary Tasks and responsibilities
* Design of complex Cognos reporting and dashboarding solutions
* Recommend best practices for maximum analytics performance
* Design of underlying database concepts and data structures for Cognos reporting and dashboarding Technical profile requirements
* Proven track record for the items mentioned under "Environment Tools and Platforms" Non-Technical profile requirements (standardized)
* Accepts personal responsibility for client satisfaction
* Strong tracking, coordination and project planning skills
* Establishes and manages engagement objectives, expectations and quality plan
* Ability to identify and implement process and/or application improvements
* Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
* Must be able to work on multiple simultaneous tasks with limited supervision
* Quick learner, motivated self-starter
* Excellent customer service, interpersonal, communication and team collaboration skills
* Able to follow change management procedures and internal guidelines Methodology/Certification requirements (standardized)
* Master and/or Bachelor Degree in Mathematics, Engineering, Computer Science, Chemistry or Bioinformatics OR equivalent through experience. Advanced course work in technical systems plus continued education in technical disciplines is preferred
* Additional certification is a plus
