We are currently looking for NOC Back Office Engineer - Fixed Network for contract positions in Zürich, Switzerland.
Tasks:
Second line support with necessary expertise to resolve issues escalated from first line diagnostics.
Provide guidance and support for software delivery and upgrades.
Provide technical reports to identify cause of problems, and give preventive guidance to avoid same problem happen again.
Escalate the trouble ticket to third line (TAC) when they cannot solve it, and keep involved until solved.
Coordinate and Implement Changes and configurations over the network elements in Low impact time windows.
Fulfill the Service configuration and activation according to plan.
Cooperate with third line support & HQ to deal with the network problems such as collecting statistics, databases, configuration files and logs.
Do Health checks for periodic maintenance.
Updating the network structures, version document, third party equipment list and other network related information periodically.
Preventative maintenance implementation.
Fault Management support:
- Trouble ticket management, prioritization, Fault diagnosis, Remote fault resolution, Management and control of fault progression, Escalation of technical support, Dispatch of FLM-FO staff.
- Work in a KPI oriented way (Detection time, reaction time, restoration resolution time etc
Configuration Management support:
- Responsible for actual configuration and provisioning activities within the network, planned events, software introduction, and impact analysis.
- Software Management: Maintenance of current deployed software for all network elements.
New software release update and implementation when they become available.
Skills:
2 years experience and deep knowledge of following technologies:
TCP/IP Networks including routing protocols, network architectures and different VPN solutions. MPLS protocol and implementation in devices form different vendors.
WDM network architectures and expertise in working with ODF, attenuators, power adjustments etc.
Dark fiber network topologies and typical infrastructures (Fiber cables, Chest structure, OTDR measurements, Fiber weldings, ODF types etc.)
SDH Protocol and network architecture. Experience working with this network, built with any vendor devices.
Expertise working with IPDSLAM equipments, managing configurations, user profiles and dealing with final user typical issues in DSL connections.
Expertise in Real Time networks in terms of collecting and analysing traces, troubleshooting problems occurring on the network.
Different Network Management Systems architecture and features.
English proficiency required, other language is beneficial.
