For our client, a dynamic and multinational company in the in Basel, Switzerland, we are looking for a:
Application Architect with experience in the pharmaceutical industry - 3 months contract
Your tasks in this position
- Understand the overall application architecture for a business area's domains, ensuring that the architecture is appropriate across the business domain and technology environments, and adheres to the enterprise architecture
- Capture architectural requirements
- Evaluate alternative approaches
- Prototype alternatives as needed
- Create architectural models and architecture documentation
- Develop application, component, data, and interface architecture with the Devlopment Informatics architect
- Evaluate alternative approaches, prototype as needed, recommend solutions, create and maintain architecture documentation
- Create specifications for components and interfaces
- Assist in analysing and modelling relevant business processes
- Analyze, design, realize and implement Laboratory solutions with including:
- Devising functional and conceptual design specifications, Data and process modelling, Developing prototypes,
- Implements standard software packages for Paperless Laboratory within the framework of the defined business application architecture, including: Supporting software package evaluation, Leading software selection process, Elaborating functional and conceptual design specifications, Defining integration and implementation plans, Customizing/configuring standard solution and developing additional functions/objects according to user requirements.
- Develops a strong partnership with Development groups for the project
- Write project related technical documentation
- Convert technical and business requirements into adequate IT solutions for an allocated area in the project.
- Serve as technical leader and mentor for the configuration and implementation of the system.
Skills and Experience
- 4-6 years experience as an applications architect including global systems
- Several years experience as an architect within the Pharmaceutical industry are mandatory
- Fluent in English with strong communications and documentation skills
- Experience in implementing a large system across multiple sites, multiple continents in a team environment and with other architects, eg enterprise, application
- Primary location is Basel, Switzerland but must be capable of travelling
