Next Ventures have an immediate opening for an experienced PeopleSoft consultant with a strong Oracle DBA background. The work is to be carried out in Geneva on a standard 5-day per week schedule. Remote work is only possible in emergency situations. Like all admins on the same team, the candidate will be required to carry a support phone on a rotational basis.OBJECTIVES
Standard tasks for this role are as follows:
Provide technical support for Managed PeopleSoft Hosting services provided by our client, including system administration of PeopleSoft technology components such as WebLogic, PeopleSoft PIA, Tuxedo, Process Schedulers and Oracle databases.
Implement new PeopleSoft environments as required.
Conduct database and environment refreshes.
Perform PeopleTools and database upgrades; assist with application upgrades.
Co-ordinate with the application and database vendors for resolution of problems (functional bugs, performance issues, etc).
Provide technical support for the ERP development team of the Partner Organization(s).
Plan and conduct DR tests.
Provide assistance in landscape design.
Monitor capacity Perform routine production support activities and provide incident and problem management support.
Troubleshoot PeopleSoft-related issues.
Undertake performance tuning.
Produce documentation as required.
Implement project-type activities and other requests for services.
Perform support activities during maintenance windows.
In case of emergencies, perform support (either on-site or remotely using VPN connectivity) outside normal working hours.
Provide standby and on-call support as and when required.
Liaise with Partner Organizations on a service management basis.
Perform other duties as required.
APPLICATIONS/TECHNOLOGIES and VERSIONS
The principal ones are as follows:
- PeopleSoft Finance/SCM, HCM, Portal, ELM etc. versions 8.3, 8.9, 9.
- PeopleTools 8.50, 8.51 and 8.52
- Database is Oracle RDBMS 10gR2 and 11gR2
- Platforms are Oracle Linux 5.x and Solaris 10
DURATION
The initial contract is for 3 months, with a possibility for extensions.
Prefered start date: April 9, 2012.

COMMENTS
The PeopleSoft and database DBA teams are integrated, with members required to do both types of administration work, hence an Oracle DBA background is required.
