FIELD SERVICE TRS PATCHING

Job Responsibilities:

This position requires knowledge and a moderate amount of field experience in basic building and construction of telecommunications hardware at the customer site. This individual must be very competent in the physical build activities and be able to take a leadership role in building the product utilizing job specifications and drawings with little or no guidance from others. This individual has the ability to direct assignments to meet delivery commitments to customer and may also perform power verification and preliminary hardware testing of out-of-service equipment. He/she must possess the knowledge and the abilities enabling him/her to complete the following responsibilities of the position and/or be able to direct others in these activities:

  • Understands and applies constant vigilance to established client and customer safety practices and Quality standards and practices. Has the ability to implement quality control processes.
  • Understands and applies constant vigilance to following Clients Installation Methods and/or NTPs to ensure customer service is never put at risk by deviating from these documents.
  • Performs/Supervises all physical and mechanical installation activities.
  • Performs power and grounding installation on equipment and small power plants, per the Installation Methods.
  • Delivers work assignments, communicates, dresses and assists customer in a professional manner.
  • Reads and stays current on installation documentation.
  • Reads and interprets Engineering specs, prints, and drawings.
  • Inventory of all job-related material.
  • Demonstrates proper use of tools including the ability to use a Personal Computer and various software applications (email, Excel, etc ).
  • Testing
    • Performs power verification and power-up of equipment.
    • Performs preliminary hardware testing in an 'out of service' environment.
    • Perform complete functional testing on both in-service and out-of-service equipment on multiple product line
    • Coordinate the installation, on-site and/or remote commissioning, network certification, and final cutover of assigned job(s).
  • Maintains on-site job records and administration tracking.
  • Ensures shipment accuracy of job-related material
  • Coordinates equipment and trash removal from site
  • Responsible for submitting all closing docs to appropriate management teams
  • Identify T&E, and JCO opportunities to management
  • Manage closing requirements for assigned projects
  • Manage IR, ER, and JIM requirements
  • Ability to complete administrative activities such as shortage report, IR's, installation completion notices
  • Site Team Leadership

o Can plan, manage logistics and execute physical installation of hardware on one or multiple sites
o Requirements include holding a leadership role on a job site(s) and running multiple site(s) in conjunction with Deployment Coordinator and/or Operations Manager
o Exhibits solid communication and problem resolution skills
o Must have proven ability to direct assignments to meet delivery commitments to customer
o Responsible for coordinating, driving, and reporting site productivity milestones
o Inform management of positive and negative job impacts
o Oversee and direct installation activities, maintain records and conduct meetings as required
o Ensure Outage Awareness Process is followed on all projects
o Ability to serve as a mentor to field employees and create a positive team environment. Provide technical coaching, skill development, and assistance with day-to-day administrative responsibilities (ie operating systems, timesheets, documentation, etc).

Qualifications

Job Requirements:

  • 2-5 years relevant microwave installation experience. Will consider acceptable combination of education, technical certifications and experience in lieu of educational requirement
  • Must exhibit good communication and problem resolution skills
  • Ability to deliver high quality services with no supervision
  • Flexibility and desire to work irregular shifts (nights, maintenance window, etc) and overtime
  • Ability to multi-task and maintain composure in stressful and demanding work environments
  • Ability to exercise flexibility and resourcefulness in challenging and perplexing situations
  • Ability to work in remote and challenging locations including but not limited to rooftops, vaults, congested areas, rugged terrain, and various types of geographical locations
