Radio Optimization Engineer
Consultant
The RNO Engineer is responsible for interfacing towards Sunrise and Alcatel-Lucent Network Planning- and Optimization departments and ensures that the committed Network Performance KPI's are achieved. The RNO Engineer reports to the RND/RNO Manager and interfaces to a Drive test Partner.
Main activities and responsibilities are:
- Responsible for Huawei equipment parameter planning and conversion of SUNRISE initial parameter planning
- Pre-swap activities like performance benchmark and drive test
- Interface to external Drive Test companies
- Post-swap activities like performance benchmark and drive test
- Network performance statistic data analysis, drive test data analysis, signal tracing data analysis and troubleshooting to improve network performance
- Responsible for Cluster Acceptance and Final Cluster Acceptance
- Prepare and communicate regular reports
Requirements:
- At least 8 years working experience in Wireless Access Network project (specially wireless swap project) in Radio Network Optimization area
- Expert in GSM/WCDMA technology, being familiar with RF algorithm & parameters (eg handover, power control and RRM algorithm) and being able to perform the performance optimization by the algorithm analysis and parameter modification
- Good knowledge with NSN/Ericsson/HUAWEI GSM/WCDMA equipment, familiar with the network architecture
- Familiarity with the local regulation for protection of the general population from non-ionizing radiation and with NIS application process.
- Familiarity with drive tests and post processing tools for optimization (eg TEMS, NEMO, ACTIX and Rhode & Schwarz).
- Good knowledge of Radio Planning
- M.Sc. degree or above in Telecommunication, Electronic or equivalent
- Excellent team spirit with good communications and interpersonal skills. Ability to cooperate and work with people from different cultures.
- Fluent oral and written and English skills, German and French is an asset
Based Zurich, Willingness to travel on a regular basis
