The BdU Consulting AG provides various services in the IT sector in cooperation with large and
established companies. For the ongoing support of our customers, we are looking for a Unix System
Engineer with work location in the Zürich-Altstetten area.
Tasks
Installation of System servers based on installation manual
Lifecycle management of AIX servers based on defined processes and steps
Lifecycle management of Linux servers based on defined processes and steps
Lifecycle management of Solaris servers based on defined processes and steps
2nd level support Unix infrastructure
Configuration management OS and HW based on defined processes
Change management OS and HW based on defined processes
Quality gate "Release Manager"
Review delivered packages and documentation
Installation on test system
Basic shakedown testing of new packages
Implement changes
Install changes on production environment
SPOC for various Application responsibles
Requirements
System Administrator 2nd level AIX, Linux and Solaris server platform and supporting technologies,
including:
AIX from version 6.1 (including HW p5 und p7)
Linux Red Hat from version 5.6
SUN/Oracle Solaris 8, 9 and 10
Vas Tool (interface to AD)
Very good German and English language skills
Knowledge in the area of Server virtualization (Zoning/LPAR)
Solid AIX Know How and years of experience in LPAR technology
Experienced AIX, Linux and Solaris server administrator (3 - 5 years experience)
Change process know-how and experience
Scripting know-how and experience preferred (e.g. shell script)
Certified ITIL Foundation mandatory
Oracle/SQL server operations know-how preferred
