Project Description:
The Structured Products FX IT team in Zürich is looking for an experienced Java Developer with the interest and capability to understand the business and products we support. This is a hands-on role that includes liaising with both business stakeholders and analysts to gather and understand new requirements, designing and implementing new solutions as well as extending existing implementa-tions.
Task & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work as part of the small Data Services development team which is responsible for the global Structured FX database, product life cycle management applications, worldwide data feeding and the Structured FX management information system.
Deliverables:
The development team is focussed on the business delivery pipeline, working iteratively and delivering functionality to production on a bi-weekly basis.
Required Experience/Skills:
Has at least 5 years professional development experience with Java 6 Standard Edition.
Has at least 3 years professional development experience with preferably Sybase ASE (stored procedures and DDL) or other relational database systems including Spring JDBC templates.
Has experience with test driven development.
Works in a methodological, structured and pragmatic way and pays attention to detail.
Respects deadlines, is able to assess risks and sets priorities accordingly.
Is a team player and enjoys working in diverse and dynamic teams.
Has very strong communication skills and is fluent in English.
Nice to haves:
Experience with Apache Solr/Lucene is a plus.
Experience with messaging technologies (JMS/RV/EMS/MQ) is beneficial.
Experience with QlikView is beneficial.
Familiarity with Linux is beneficial.
