On behalf of a major client in the Pharma industry, we are urgently looking for an Application Service Manager (HPC and RHEL) for a contracting role in Basel (Switzerland).

Main tasks

  • Manage/coordinate computer operations activity in a heterogeneous super computer environment used for Modelling, Simulation and Statistical Analysis.
  • Oversee all support activities (eg Level 1 & 2 customer support, open problems, on-going change implementation, communication to customers) and act as Development Informatics contact point for escalations, application problems and enhancement requests
  • Coordinate with the System Owner planned or actual service outages, information and communication to application end-users
  • Ensure that all Service Management processes are followed
  • Ensure technical problems are resolved in a timely (SLA) and cost-effective manner
  • Manage efforts for Major Incident and Emergency Changes Handling
  • Manage maintenance and application optimization.

    Our client expects expertise with High Performance Computing (HPC) Clusters or scientific computing and applications, minimum 5 years of experience and profound knowhow in Linux administration especially RedHat Enterprise Linux (RHEL release 4/5), Linux application and software installation, good knowledge of GxP policies and procedures (qualification and validation of computer systems - IQ/OQ/PQ process), minimum 5 years of ITIL experience and fluent English.
