SQL Server DBA, (SQL Server 05/08, DBA), 1 year contract, Basel, Switzerland. For our client, one of the major Pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, Swisslinx is seeking a highly motivated SQL Server DBA.
In this role your main tasks and responsibilities will include the following tasks:
- Installing, configuring & patching SQL Server in clustered and non clustered environment
- Upgrading SQL Server version from 2005 to 2008
- Administration and Security management of SQL Server
- Production and development database administration
- SharePoint SQL database administration
- Backing up and restoring of SQL Server and MySQL databases
- Disaster Recovery & High Availability (Failover Clustering)
- Working knowledge of SQL Server reporting services.
- Monitoring & Performance tuning of SQL Server/databases
- Organise/perform support and troubleshooting for SQL Server and products
- Replication, Mirroring and knowledge of setting up Remote Blob Storage
- Working collaboratively in a team environment
- Working in cross-functional project teams
- Basic working knowledge of Windows and Red Hat Linux Operating Systems
To be considered for this role you should have minimum 5 years of experience with SQL Server 05/08 administration as well as minimum 2 years of experience with database programming, IT Operations or application development.
Start date: 19 th of March
Duration: 1 year
