for an ECM System Engineer

Description:
The System Engineer is a subject matter expert in a team of technical experts with the mission to
provide a stable and scalable Enterprise Content Management (ECM) infrastructure including the new Enterprise Search and the new Enterprise Information Archiving (EIA) infrastructure.
The System Engineer is responsible for the design, the engineering, the documentation and the
transition of generic infrastructure services as well as the enhancement of existing services, mainly based on 3rd party products. The evaluation of such products and the smooth integration into the existing landscape is the System Engineer's main challenge, which requires close collaboration with other engineering teams, the developer community and the infrastructure operations team. All these topics require the coordination of internal and third party resources as well as strong technical guidance and project management skills.
In addition to the product specific activities, the Senior System Engineer defines guidelines on how to make best use of the ECM infrastructure, and works closely with application development teams to support them solving their specific ECM related requirements.
As of today the ECM Infrastructure consists of the following components: EMC Documentum Content Server, EMC Document Transformation Server, EMC Retention Policy Services, Adlib Express and Director, NSi AutoStore and QuickCapture, and many self-built components. This year the following platforms will be added to the ECM Infrastructure: Microsoft SharePoint for collaborative document management and Recommind for the enterprise search.

Main duties:
- Develop standards and procedures for the operations and maintenance of the ECM and EIA
infrastructure;
- Evaluate and introduce 3rd party products with a structured approach;
- Provide consulting to projects and help them to develop smart solutions for their specific ECM
requirements;
- Create technical documentation and keep it up-to-date;
- Technical contact to suppliers and responsible to resolve product issues and discuss future
requirements or trends;
- Represent the ECM Infrastructure team in business and IT projects;
- Troubleshoot complex problems and describe resolution procedures;
- Implement and test business continuity solutions and procedures, including disaster recovery;
- Describe standards and best-practices;
- Design system integrations;
- Provide technical analysis;

Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in computer science
- English a must, German a plus
- Located in Zurich

Required skills:
- UNIX (Solaris, Linux) and Windows servers;
- Either Microsoft SharePoint or EMC Documentum Content Server;
- Basic SQL query language;
- Script languages like Bourne shell, Power Shell or Perl;
- Programming languages Java and .Net of benefit;
- Basic project management;

7 x 24h on-call duty service for 3rd level support once per month.
