Senior Linux Administrator/Engineer to join a major international bank. You will be providing 3rd level support for 10000+ Linux and Unix Servers globally but primarily concentrating on the local server estate.
You will be business aligned and will be required to the business to discuss requirements, project work and plans. You will implement larger, more complex service requests, eg O/S installation & upgrade, server moves, etc. You will be involved with the Linux/Unix on-call rota for Switzerland. You will also need to write technical documentation from time-to-time.
The required skills are: specialist knowledge of Red Hat Enterprise Linux and/or Solaris; knowledge of some or all of the following Veritas Cluster Server, Veritas Volume Manager, Sun Cluster, VMware ESX, Jumpstart, Naming services, NIS and DNS, NFS; confident writing Shell Scripts and/or Scripting in Perl. Fluency in English is essential German is useful but not essential.
