Senior Linux Administrator, (HPC, Clusters, Grid), English, Contract, Basel, Switzerland. For our client, one of the major Pharmaceutical companies based in Basel, Swisslinx is seeking an experienced Linux Administrator with excellent communication skills and willing to take on Service/Change Management responsibilities.
In this role your main tasks and responsibilities will include managing the operation and support by overseeing all support activities, being the contact point for escalations, coordinating with the System Owner, ensuring that all Service Management processes are followed and supporting scientists by explaining how the environment works, answering technical questions about how things are set up and providing guidance. Additionally you will also be responsible for problem management, fixing bugs and troubleshooting.
To be considered for this role you must have the following skills:
- Advanced level of Linux
- Experience with High Performance Computing (HPC)
- Experience with Clustering and Grid Technologies (eg Sun Grid Engine)
- Experience with processes, documentation and change control
- Excellent communication skills
- Fluent in English (German is an advantage)
Start date: ASAP
End date: June 2012 (possibility of extension)
