For our client, we are looking for an experienced JAVA SE developer with the interest and capability to understand the business and products they support. This is a hands-on role that includes liaising with business stakeholders and analysts to gather and understand new requirements, designing and implementing new solutions as well as extending existing implementations.
Task & Responsibilities:
The successful candidate will work as part of a small development team to enhance and maintain the Pricing and Trading Flow systems for the FX Listed Product business.
Deliverables:
The development team are focussed on the business delivery pipeline, working iteratively and delivering functionality to production on a weekly basis.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Has at least 5 years hands-on professional experience with JAVA SE & OO development
- Has at least 3 years experience with Java development in a multi-threaded non-J2EE environment.
- Has experience with high performance, high throughput systems
- Has experience with test driven development
- Has experience with messaging technologies (JMS/RV/EMS/MQ)
- Experience within the financial sector (preferably within FX Structured Products or FX derivatives) is desired, but not required
- Experience with Agile development practices is desired, but not required
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture is desired, but not required
- Experience with relational databases is desired, but not required
- Experience with GUI technologies (eg SWT, Swing) is desired, but not required
- Experience with Subversion, Maven and Bamboo is desired, but not required
- Experience with Requirements capture and technical analysis is desired, but not required
- Works in a methodological and structured way, and pays attention to detail
- Respects deadlines, is able to assess risk and set priorities accordingly
- Is a team player and enjoys working in diverse and dynamic teams
- Has very strong communication skills and is fluent in English

Duration: 12 months with extension possible
