We are looking for a Senior Java Developer to work in the FX Trading and Connectivity team. The

The candidate needs to be able to work in a fast paced, high pressure environment using his/her excellent

Java skills.
The challenge involves design, development, testing and performance tuning of new and existing
components supporting the trading and connectivity client APIs as well as ECN market data connectivity into our Real Time FX trading system. High frequency model trading, automatic matching and pricing engines are all fields which the team supports and offers exposure to.
The ideal candidate will be a Java expert (with at least 8 years Java) having proven experience of implementing globally distributed, 24/5, high-performance, high frequency, low latency systems.
A thorough understanding of messaging, multi-threading, distributed systems, efficient API design, as well as an excellent knowledge of industry best-practice are essential, as are a strong and methodical analytical skills and experience of performance measurement and tuning.

Previous experience of any of the following skills and technologies would be an advantage:
- Real Time trading systems, FIX protocol, Foreign Exchange, ECN Connectivity
- 29 West (LBM, UME), TIBCO Rendezvous, Subversion/Git/Mercurial, KDB+/Q, R, SQL, FIX protocol

To be successful, the candidate must be extremely motivated, self-driven and committed. Good
communication skills to express technical concepts to both technical and non-technical staff are essential. The ideal candidate would demonstrate the ability to maintain a good balance between strategic ideals and practical solutions.
