Elan is seeking a "Java Developer" to join an international team
Task and responsibilities:
The successful Java Developer candidate will work as part of a small development team to enhance and maintain the pricing and trading flow systems for the FX Listed Product business. The development team are focussed on the business delivery pipeline, working and delivering functionality to production on a weekly basis.
Required Experience/Skills:
- Has at least 5 years hands-on professional experience with JAVA SE & OO development
- Has at least 3 years experience with Java development in a multi-threaded non-J2EE environment.
- Has experience with high performance, high throughput systems
- Has experience with test driven development
- Has experience with messaging technologies (JMS/RV/EMS/MQ)
- Experience within the financial sector (preferably within FX Structured Products or FX derivatives) is desired, but not required
- Experience with Agile development practices is desired, but not required
- Experience with Service Oriented Architecture is desired, but not required
- Experience with relational databases is desired, but not required
- Experience with GUI technologies (eg SWT, Swing) is desired, but not required
- Experience with Subversion, Maven and Bamboo is desired, but not required
- Experience with Requirements capture and technical analysis is desired, but not required
- Works in a methodological and structured way, and pays attention to detail
- Respects deadlines, is able to assess risk and set priorities accordingly
- Is a team player and enjoys working in diverse and dynamic teams
- Has very strong communication skills and is fluent in English
- A University degree in computer science of engineering
Location: Zurich
Start/Duration: latest mid February 2012 for 12 months
