for an Expert Oracle DWH Developer
Description:
• The policy DWH is intended to store group wide L&H policy and associated claims information. The policy information we get from our first insurers world wide. Thus there is relatively much data for the company standards.
• In Dec 2011 we had our first release, sourcing data from 3 main sources and setting up the core data warehouse and data marts.
• In 2012 we will add additional sources, improve our data model and particularly add feeds for downstream systems.
• To complete our team we need a highly skilled Oracle DWH Developer.
Main duties:
• Support business analysts in their activities, e.g. by providing data profiling.
• Extend the data model.
• Write extractors to pull data from new sources.
• Write enrichments on core data warehouse.
• Write downstream interfaces.
Required skills:
• It's crucial that we can fill the DWH developer it with a high performer.
• Expert Oracle know how required in order to understand and write complex logic within a sort amount of time.
• Good performance tuning skills required.
• Ability to quickly understand complex source or target systems in order to be able to write the interface logic.
• Good conceptual skills in order to extend the data warehouse in an optimal way.
• Good DWH data modeling skills.
• We are part of a larger DWH team that currently maintains three data warehouses. There is a 'common framework' that we reuse to populate the core DWH. Thus there must be a willingness to reuse existing components that were originally built for another DWH and thus are not always optimal for us. The position will need major collaboration with other developers, business analysts and business experts. Thus good communication skills and customer focus are essential.
• Some knowledge of Powercenter and Business Objects are a plus.
• Exadata knowledge would be a plus.
