For our client we are currently looking for Scientific IT supporter in Basel, Switzerland.
Start date: 15.10.2011
Duration: 2 years (with a possibility to get an extension).
Location: Basel
Description:
To provide scientific IT support for a local biopharma research organization. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the provision of:
- Support for internal scientific applications and related IT processes support to guarantee optimal and accurate usage of researchers IT workplace.
- Knowledge transfer to Service Desk agents in the Europe Service Desk, including training,
- documentation, coaching.
- Identification of areas requiring small automations.
- On occasion, general IT support.
- This role coordinates closely with infrastructure IT supporters with whom it shares the IT support services
- provisioning and also with Information Systems teams which develop and maintain the scientific applications and with whom the successful candidate will work on a day to day basis. The candidate will be a strong team player
- This role is one of four Scientific Support roles.
Required:
- Degree or experience in an area around biology, pharmacology or bioinformatics.
- Biology software application and system experience.
- Minimum of 2 years experience working in pharmaceutical, biotech, or life sciences industries.
- Support function experience.
- Training experience.
- Ability to recognize recurring incidents, to analyze problems and propose systems changes.
- Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
