Application Designer (m/w)
Purpose and scope of the job:
• Design, validate and test a new global application being developed on WebSphere platform.
• Design Data Migration concepts in a complex data domain and support business in data migration.
• Design, build and test staged data loading capabilities for a new business solution.
Experience and skills required:
• Technology
o Experienced in systems design, specification: database modeling, J2EE GUIs, systems interfacing
o Experienced in systems testing: test plans, tests management, execution. Test campaigns coordination.
o Excellent knowledge of Oracle database and SQL language. Knowledge of PL/SQL would be an asset
o Ability to review or troubleshoot J2EE transactional applications
o Experience in the following technologies would be an asset: J2EE-WebSphere, Oracle, Power Designer Webmethods, DataStage, SOA, WebServices, Enterprise Architect, Cognos, DB2.
o Experience in integration of JEE with .NET architecture would be an asset
o Experience in data migration, transformation and load would be an asset
• Functional
o Highly motivated in understanding a new business.
o Experience of WebSphere implementation would be an asset.
o Knowledge of the Flavors or Fragrances business is not required.
• Project Management skills
o Coordination capabilities to follow up defects, define priorities, with remote development teams.
o Familiar with fixed price projects constraints.
o Experienced in Agile projects.
Profile requested:
• General competencies
o 4 to 6 years experience.
o Fluent in English
o Fluent in German
o Excellent written and verbal communicator coupled with strong negotiation and presentation skills.
o Thorough knowledge of the systems development lifecycle.
o Capable of understanding, articulating and translating business requirements to system solution at a conceptual level (business to IT translation).
o Higher education completed, preferably with a degree in Engineering.
o Culturally aware and adaptable to flexible business requirements.
o Open minded and accepting challenges.
• Coordination
o Experienced in projects in an international environment.
