Description

Provide IT support for a local biopharma research organization. The ideal candidate will be accountable for the provision of IT hardware, software and related processes support to guarantee optimal and accurate usage of researchers IT workplace. This position is responsible for providing support remotely as well as at the location of researchers. Training sessions delivery is also part of the scope.
This role coordinates closely with Scientific IT supporters with whom it shares the IT support services provisioning and also with Information Systems teams which develop and maintain the scientific applications.

MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES

• Interprets, evaluates, and resolves, if possible, telephone inquiries pertaining to the functional operation of all installed software and hardware platforms supported by IT.
• Analyzes simple to moderately complex inquiries, resolves problems when possible and/or determines appropriate technical area or information system group to resolve problems.
• Consults with IT professionals when the appropriate course of action is unclear.
• Alerts user community when a major problem is suspected.
• Follows up on specific inquiries or requests to ensure user/customer satisfaction.
• Reports procedures and makes suggestions for improvements.
• Applies knowledge of overall systems & landscape as appropriate.
• Performs related duties as assigned.
• Deliver IT training courses to researchers.
• Ability to handle multiple requests simultaneously.
• Professionalism and confidence to interact with researchers.
• Contribute to helpdesk procedures.


KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS/MEASURES OF SUCCESS

• Researchers satisfaction on ability and proper way to get the incidents managed and requests executed.
• Ensure stable and well performing IT environment by resolving researchers issues in a timely and efficient manner.
• Contribution to the incidents resolution & request management knowledge database in term of quality and relevance of reports.
• Apply professional competencies to administrate and optimize the IT environment.
• Ability to recognize recurring incidents, to analyze problems and propose systems changes.


EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE

Minimum education/experience:
• Degree in computer science.
• Minimum of 2 years of IT support experience within an industry.

Desirable education/experience:
• Some degree or experience in a scientific discipline, engineering or mathematics.
• Support function experience within Pharmaceutical or scientific environment.
• Training experience.
