Laboratory Worker in Microbiology - BSL2 organisms, research lab, Microbiology and Genetic Engineering, mammalian cell based assays, EnglishRole:
For our client in the Pharma industry based in Basel we are looking for a Laboratory Worker in Microbiology.
Within the Infectious Diseases Department we work to discover novel antibiotic drug candidates. You will be working alongside experienced individuals to help develop and perform experiments to support current projects within the Antibiotics Research and Discovery group.
Areas of responsibility:
* Running microbiological assays (e.g. MIC/MBC, checkerboard, time kill, resistance) and conduct data analysis
* Contributing to the development of transposon libraries & genetic engineering in bacteria
* Contributing to the development of biofilm assays
* Contributing to the development of mammalian cell-based assays
* Plan and perform experiments independently, including performing the necessary literature research
* Appropriately document protocols and results
Professional and technical requirements:
* Possess a diploma or completed apprenticeship as in Life Science (focus Microbiology) with at least 1 year of experience in a research lab
* Practical experience in Microbiology and Genetic Engineering
* Practical experience with the handling of BSL2 organisms
* Independently design, execute and document experiments
* Good data analysis and documentation skills
* Practical experience developing mammalian cell based assays
* Proficient English language skills

Working time:
* Between 08:00am and 18:00pm (flexible working times)
