Senior Data Platform - Big Data Hadoop Administrator

Overview of contract
On behalf of our client, a leading financial institution in Zürich, we are looking for a Senior Strategic Data Platform Supporter/Hadoop Administrator to be part of a global team responsible for the bank's strategic big data platform
Main responsibilities
- Manage the full life cycle of the platform from a Production Services' point of view, E2E, in a proactive manner, preventing escalations, managing risks and fulfilling the expectations of the platform's key stakeholders
- Working with data delivery teams to setup new Hadoop clusters. This includes setting up Kerberos principals and testing
- Cluster maintenance as well as creation and removal of nodes using tools like Cloudera Manager Enterprise
- Screen Spark cluster job performances and capacity planning
- Monitor Hadoop cluster connectivity and security
- Manage, Troubleshoot and review Hadoop log files
- Incident and Event Management - ensure INC tickets are followed up, also in other queues, based on the right criticality, along the expectations of the user community
- Ensure SINs are sent and setup correctly for the specific tenant application
- Ensure problem tickets are opened along our guidelines and ensure effective actions are defined and executed before the PRB ticket gets closed
Your skills:
- 5 years' working experience of Linux commands and utilities to analyze and solve issues related to large Big data clusters
- 3 years' experience of working with Cloudera Hadoop components (support and maintenance) such as HDFS, Sentry, HBase, Impala, Hue, Spark, Hive, YARN, ZooKeeper and Postgres
- Understanding of Incident Management/Problem Management processes
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English,
- Knowledge of Screen Spark cluster job performances and capacity planning is highly beneficial
