SAP Project Manager Level II for SAP APO

“SAP Datacenter Migration”, a category A project running in Basel/Switzerland, offers an interesting and challenging job opportunity for an experienced SAP Project Manager in the area of SAP BW. As the ideal candidate manage and lead the migration of a global SAP environment into the new datacenter and ensure the fulfillment of all functional and NON-functional requirements of the new SAP environment.
ROLE
SAP Project Manager Level II for SAP APO
ROLE PURPOSE
• Manage the category A project “SAP Datacenter Migration” in Basel.
• Lead the migration of a global SAP environment into the new datacenter and ensure the fulfillment of all customers functional and NON-functional requirements of the new SAP environment.
• Perform a detailed project planning and documentation in compliance with customers methodologies & standards.
• Responsible for ensuring that the internally and externally sourced experts are aligned with project needs and deliver in accordance to project requirements and timelines.
• Manage the project deliveries by customers domain vendors for SAP application services (Infosys), SAP software vendor services (SAP) and SAP infrastructure services (GIS/IBM).
• Maximize the business value ensuring effective alignment with business requirements.
• Ensure a reliable hand-over of migrated systems to operation to achieve highest operational integrity.
• Ensure alignment of rollout schedule with other business and business IT initiatives.
MAJOR ACCOUNTABILITIES
• Develop a global project environment which fosters a high-performance and innovative project organization.
• Ensure continuity in IT leadership and succession planning and be available for coaching of staff in both functional and core competencies.
• Ensure continuous training needs identified.
• Serve as a mentor and role model. Maintain the highest standards of professional conduct and behavior in dealings with staff, colleagues, customers and outside contacts.
• Collaborate with other IT and business managers to leverage opportunities.
• Achieve the most effective and efficient SAP datacenter migration.
• Manage and represent the project from start-up to completion.
• Deliver high level and detailed budget plans for project phases.
• Collaborate and negotiate with external partners to support project progress, ensuring reliability, competence, flexibility and cost effectiveness.
• Ensure the continuous improvement, rationalization of rollout plans.
• Ensure proper implementation of global standards, policies and systems platforms.
• Ensure close cooperation between the project team and the respective SISNet Global Operation Center (GOC) teams, SISNet Global Solution Center (GSC) teams, and Business IT teams.
• Lead service introduction and handover from project to support.
• Conduct industry and domain analyses for technology choices and directions.
• Evaluate and prototype alternatives as needed.
• Create risk-benefit analysis of alternatives.
• Coach and consult the stakeholders on their best and most cost-effective options.
• Create and maintain project documentation.
• Report project status and issues where help is needed to the Steering Committee.
KEY PERFORMANCE INDICATORS / MEASURES OF SUCCESS
• Achieve agreed project targets in terms of quality, time and cost.
• Adhere to defined management and delivery processes for IT projects and other policies relevant to the project scope (e.g. HW/SW standards, CSV, Information Protection).
• Ensure delivery of project results according to agreed quality, schedules and cost while maintaining customer satisfaction.
• Lead the assigned project personnel to jointly achieve a high stakeholder satisfaction.
JOB DIMENSION
• Autonomy: Complete global project management responsibility for a very business critical, complex project in SISNet GOC Technical Services covering a very large, complex IT organization.
• Complexity: Working together with management teams providing complex, contextual advice regarding SAP migration requirements and schedule.
• Complexity: scope covering migration of all Customers SAP systems.
EDUCATION / EXPERIENCE
Education
• Minimum education: University degree or adequate equivalent.
• Desirable education: Masters degree.
• Languages: Fluent English written & spoken
Professional experience
• At least 5 years of experience in ERP /SAP preferably in a global company.
• At least fully responsible as team lead for a successful IT/SAP project.
• Leadership: demonstrated leaderships skills, > 5 years proven management experience within a matrix organization (e.g. as a team leader or in project management).
• Customer Orientation: ability to communicate & align with key IT stakeholders.
• Methodology: savvy in IT process, best practices & standards, e.g. ITIL.
• GxP / SOX: sound knowledge of validation practice.
• SAP: In-depth knowledge and experience in ERP/APO/BW/CRM SAP Technical Services and/or IT infrastructure and related technical integration aspects.
• Ability to cope with project and operations complexities, ambiguities and matrix organizations.
Mobility requirements
• As SAP is globally deployed within Customers, willingness for required traveling (up to 50%) is important.
