I am currently recruiting a VMWare Virtualization SME (German-speaking),for an excellent 6 months contract in Bern, Switzerland.
Main Responsibilities and Accountabilities of the VMWare Virtualization SME (German-speaking) role:
This position involves intricate knowledge of server virtualization with VMWare, Cisco server hardware (UCS), and Data Center facilities operations. Must have prior experience managing server virtualization resources in a 24x7 environment.
- Actively participate in the global Server Virtualization Team.
- Actively participate in the global Data Center operations Team.
- Assist in license management.
- Manage capacity planning, report technical performance metrics, and implementation of operational standards and best practices to meet required service levels.
- Develop and continuously refine documented technical strategies in order to provide a scalable and manageable environment for future growth.
- Coordinate and contribute to the stability, availability, security, and performance of the organization's storage, server virtualization, and data center facilities working with other cross-platform Infrastructure teams, Security team, Architecture team, and Application teams.
- Services delivered include general consulting, project build work, general administration, 24x7 support, upgrade, patching, migration and/or transition planning, performance and tuning, project planning, standards validation/development, technical documentation, process automation, and problem analysis and resolution.
Required Qualifications of the VMWare Virtualization SME (German-speaking) role
- Minimum of 8 years of system administration experience in server virtualization with VMWare and Hardware support.
- Experience in Scripting and automation using Vmware Orchestrator and creation of hybrid cloud.
- Required experience in Vmware includes snapshot management, automation, Vrealize Ops Manager, DRS, Domains, etc.
- Minimum of 8 years in Data Center Operations.
- Minimum of 4 years of experience with Cisco UCS, domain creation, UCS Director, automation, FI configuration, image management.
- Good to have 2 years of experience with tape libraries & backup software, including Commvault.
- Good to have experience in provisioning storage on Netapp filers.
